{As Seen In...} 5 Fall Trends with Sonsi

The official fall season is just around the corner, and when it comes to plus size fashion, there is definitely lot to be excited about! Tried and true fall fashion has emerged with classic prints, textures, and patterns, as well as a few fresh, unexpected trends to add an exciting element to the fall mix.  No matter what your personal style aesthetic, there is always a successful way to incorporate current trends into your wardrobe.  Bold, subtle, or a little in between, you can build your entire ensemble around your favorite fall trend, or add a strategic splash of one or two trends, to take you “outside your fashion box” for a renewed wardrobe perspective!  The question is not IF you can wear the trends, but HOW you can wear them! 

This season I have scoured the Sonsi website, searching for my favorite plus size fashion trends of the season, and created 5 wearable and versatile looks that will maximize your fall for every occasion- casual daytime, updated workwear, and sophisticated nighttime, making it effortless to achieve a chic and polished fall plus size head to toe wardrobe, all available at Sonsi!  

Floral prints have transitioned from spring and summer, and straight into the forefront this fall, as a modern throwback to the prominent 90’s fashion trend, offering something unique for the season.  Pair a feminine floral dress from Apollo, with an embellished structured blazer from City Chic and cozy riding boot from Lane Bryant for a perfect fall look. As the weather gets cooler, add a pair of tights, and even boot socks to add layers and warmth.  Mixing your black and brown accessories adds interest to an ensemble… Matchy matchy is boring!

Look comfortably casual with a rocker or sporty twist this season.  Update your basic jeans and t-shirt look with graphic prints, and trendy leggings, or create a sporty look with leather detailing in the varsity jacket by Alight, printed layers in the plaid shirt by Catherine’s, worn with a sassy wedge sneaker from Lane Bryant for some serious street cred! Houndstooth, deep red, and faux fur- a few of the seasons most classic trends, all wrapped up and ready to go! Create a sleek ensemble, even with outerwear, by adding a belt on the outside of your layers.  The houndstooth tunic by Ulla Popken, layered underneath the faux fur vest by Alight, and paired with a knit jean by Catherines in falls best pop of color, all tied together with the suede lock belt by City Chic, and you are “classically fall”! Belts are a curvy girl’s best friend!

Revitalize a monotonous workwear wardrobe by adding unexpected trendy pieces that are fashion forward, yet office appropriate. Trade in your basic black blazer for the structured denim blazer by Catherines that is still neutral, spice up a classic argyle pencil skirt by Lane Bryant, by mixing in a sassy leopard print accessory, and switch up your basic pump for a chic cut-out heel, also by Lane Bryant.  Perfect workwear wardrobe update!
