It was holiday party time, and I wanted to be festive and holiday chic, but still be comfortable and be able to enjoy a fun evening without any outfit fuss. I love dressing up, but I do NOT love being uncomfortable and confined in my ensemble.
I knew I would be mingling, posing for lots of pics with my colleagues, and enjoying lots of yummy food and cocktails, so I wanted to be comfortable, but still look polished.
The party was just a few days before Christmas, so I took the opportunity to get into the holiday spirit with some of my favorite textures... lace, velour, faux fur, and a touch of gold sparkle!
Soooooo....
I have had my eye on this Luna Lace Dress from Kiyonna for several seasons now. It seriously is the perfect party dress and awesome for every body type! I finally had a chance to try on the Luna a few weeks ago when I was part of the brands latest "Real Curves" photo shoot and I was gifted the dress after the shoot (pics from the shoot coming soon and I will be sure to share).
I styled the Luna with my favorite faux-fur trimmed velour jacket (which I have had since college and cannot remember where it was purchased), and my go-to black faux suede "Faith" Wedges from Avenue (they are wide width and not too high, so they are super comfy and go with everything).
I kept my bling minimal so these amazing Kendra Scott "Daphiney" Statement Earrings could shine (purchased from Nordstrom Rack, but also available here in different colors), and added a bit of Forever 21 bling on my pinky finger (purchased several seasons ago and pulled from my styling kit).
Style Tip: Your cocktail dress should always hit just at the knee! Any longer will make your legs look shorter, so do not be afraid to get it altered. Also, choosing a nude pump will create a long, lean leg!
Such an amazingly fun night with some of my favorite people and the perfect start to an amazing holiday (we all scored iPad minis!!!)
