{style session} tunic/two ways

I have to be honest... I get sick of my clothes very quickly, especially if it's a trendy style or print.  I love it, wear it, then I am usually over it. That being said, I have built my wardrobe with a solid collection of great fitting, classic basics that stand the test of time, and can always be paired with the various trendier pieces of the season.  I splurge on the basics, then save on the trends, making it easier, and less expensive to recycle items out of your wardrobe once you are sick of them.  I also try to be creative with the items in my closet that I have worn over and over, but am not quite ready to part with.  Case in point... this animal print top by Torrid
I have had this piece in my closet, which was originally a dress, for a few seasons {I bought it online a few summers ago}.  When the package arrived and I tried it on, it was a bit too short for me to wear as a dress, and a little too long to wear as a top, so I had it altered into a tunic top! Since then I have gotten TONS of wear out of it.  You may remember seeing it here...
The surplice neckline of this top is a bit too open for me to wear without a cami underneath, and sometimes I feel like that is still too much cleavage, depending on where I am going...
...So, the other day I was heading out to a meeting and I wanted to be a bit more conservative,
so I was inspired to get creative with my top and I turned it around!
The high neckline is perfect for the bold statement necklace,
and the open plunge in the back offers lots of drama,
which can be easily covered with a layer if its too much!

Creating an amazing wardrobe is easy when you start with the basics, add the trends, get a bit creative and "think outside the fashion box"! Don't be afraid to try it on, turn it around, embellish it, change the buttons, change the neckline, dye it, or alter it to make it work!
