{style} summer hi/lo

Summer dressing is all about fun!
Easy, breezy styles with vibrant color, bold print, playful texture, and statement accessories galore!
I love classic, wearable styles mixed with seasonal trends.
It is important to me that my wardrobe have longevity, especially if I am splurging on a purchase.

The Wrap Dress...
Seriously, what is there not to love???
The wrap dress is one of those styles that is a no-brainer for me and my "more in the middle" body type, but is also a style that often gets a bad rap (no pun intended) among fashion forward plus size fashionistas.  Don't get me wrong, I totally get it... as plus size women we are constantly fighting the good fight, pushing the envelope, and demanding more fashion forward styles that are on par with straight size fashion.  We have legitimate frustrations when it comes to our overall lack of fashion choices, and we do not always want to be confined to more conservative, "boring" styles, like a wrap dress.  However, all this being said, the stylist in me has to play devil's advocate and say... you cannot deny a classic!!!" Choosing your wardrobe comes down to to a little bit of science, and a little bit of art. If it works, it works!
This dress works like magic on my body. The 3/4 sleeve and the functional wrap emphasizes my waistline, which I always need, and the surplice at the bust is perfectly leaving plenty of room for an extraordinary statement necklace that draws the eye up and frames my face.
The ever so popular hi/lo hem, hitting just above the knee in front, and right at mid-calf in the back.  I have been wearing the hi/lo hem a lot lately, in both dresses and skirts, and I think it is perfectly playful for the summer season, but I probably will not carry it into my fall wardrobe.
Fox Ring / Dress Fierce
